Playlist: Songs for When You’re Mad or Annoyed

Anger is something deal with in different ways.  Some people lash out, others shun the person who hurt them, and there are some who bottle everything up until they explode.  I am typically the ‘bottle everything up’ person, though I’ve had a few tantrums in my past.  I’ve gotten better, thank God, but I’m nowhere near perfect.

One of the ways I’ve used over the years to deal with anger is to just listen to some songs that seem to express annoyance, anger, or hurt in them.  I’m not talking screamo-death metal… that’s not even music.  These are songs from my favorite artists (which range from country, pop, alternative, oldies, and such) that tend to diss a person who has hurt them.  It’s my way of sending a letter of anger without actually sending it, and therefore I don’t regret anything and no one else gets hurt.

Sometimes the songs are ones that just give off the message “whatever, you can’t hurt me no matter what you say or do” because I’ve come to realize over the years that some people just don’t change and it’s not even worth getting angry at them.

So… here are some of my go-to songs I listen to when I’m feeling a bit angry.
