Catching Up: Weekend Recap

I consider my weekend to be Sunday and Monday, as those are my two days off from work.  So yes, I’m one of those people that go, “I work Saturdays,” when people are saying, “Thank God it’s Friday!”  Thankfully I only work a few hours on Saturdays and I’m out by three… so I still have some daylight to enjoy (in the summer anyway).

This weekend I finally got together with my best friend.  It’s been a few months since we’ve seen each other, and since my birthday was earlier this month, we wanted to get together.  We met up at a shopping plaza, had lunch, and spent six hours browsing around; though most of it was in Continue reading

What’s Happening Wednesday {Currently}

I didn’t do my ‘What’s Happening Wednesday’ post last month due to the A to Z Challenge.  I meant to, but I just completely forgot because of my focus on the challenge.  Oh well.  I don’t think it was missed too much, but I would like to keep doing this post every month, and hopefully maybe some of my fellow bloggers will join me!

So without any further delay, here’s what I’ve been up to!

Retiring Number 2

I’ve been a Yankees fan for as long as I can remember, and I’m talking back since elementary school.  That long.  Though I don’t really watch baseball as much since becoming a football fan, I still love my Yankees.  There’s one problem though… all my Yankees retired.

Why I Don’t Do a Monthly TBR Post

I notice a common post among book bloggers, which is a monthly To-Be-Read (TBR) list of books they plan to read that month.  I’ve been wanting to start doing this myself, but I can’t for one simple reason – I can’t stick to a reading plan.

I’m sure other book bloggers have the same problem.  We don’t end up sticking to our list because we find out about new books and want to read those instead, or we Continue reading

Finding Jake [book review]

Simon Connolly’s world is turned upside-down when he gets a text saying that shots have been fired at the high school his children, Jake and Laney, attend.  Laney returns to her parents, but Jake is nowhere to be found.  Then the news breaks that Jake may have had something to do with the shooting.  Simon takes it upon himself to find his son, because no one else seems to care to find him, and figure out why this happened. It’s My Birthday Tag

Hey, hey!  It’s my birthday!  As of today (at 4:02pm) I am twenty-six years old.

oh. my. gosh.

I’m now officially closer to thirty than twenty… and this saddens me.  I honestly don’t feel 26 in any way, shape, or form.  I mean, when I see the way some teens and kids act, then yes, I feel my age, but in my head, I’m still in disbelief.  I guess the good thing is people still think I look 18-19 years old, so I have that going for me.
