My birthday was last week, as you know from my Birthday Tag post, and it was a good one. This year I got a good amount of birthday money (and gift cards) and boy, did I treat myself! Mostly to books. Overall, I bought eight books with my birthday money, and at good deals too.
And here are the books I bought:
- Trusting Liam by Molly McAdams (sequel to Taking Chances)
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton (and I read it already!)
- All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
- The Remnant by Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins (Left Behind #10)
- Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg
- The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz
- Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz
- Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz
Only one book is missing from this picture, Rise of the Isle of the Lost, and that is because it hasn’t been released yet. I pre-ordered it on Amazon when I bought Return to the Isle of the Lost and the Evie and Sailor Venus Pops. The book comes out on May 23rd, so at least I don’t have to wait too long for it.
And obviously, I bought a few Funko Pops – Evie, Sailor Venus & Artemis, and Draco Malfoy. I had to get another Draco because my cats knocked over my Quidditch Draco and the broomstick broke. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to glue it back together – oh well. And I’m not paying $35 for a new one… just no. I’ll take regular Draco.
Of course, I bought a few other things besides books. I found this awesome letterman jacket at Kmart and I love it! It’s kind of big, but it’s ridiculously soft and comfy. My mom wanted to get a photo of me in it at Olive Garden, and I look like a goof because she made me laugh while she took the photos.
At the mall I didn’t get much, only The Outsiders movie and a new purse. The purse is more of a shocking purchase, since I’m not known to carry one around that often, but it was either get a new wallet for the purse I had, or a new purse. I’m really happy with my purse because there’s more room and it’s a little more my style.
But for the most part, my birthday haul was a bookish one. I can honestly say that I probably won’t be buying any books for a while – at least not until I read my newest ones and a few others that have been sitting on my shelf for quite some time now.
“The Outsiders” is considered the first true “young adult” novel, and it’s absolutely brilliant. Enjoy your books!
I really loved it! I’m so happy my coworker was on my case to read it! :D
