That's right... I threw three books into the DNF pile this month! I'm actually proud of myself because I'll usually suffer through to finish even if I'm not liking a book. I've done that so many times and I'm just sick of it. Although... there was one book this month I read all the way … Continue reading I Actually DNF’d Three Books!

Anything But Books Tag
My blog isn't totally centered around books, or at least it wasn't created for that, but I have been mainly blogging about books or my writing life, so I thought I'd take a little break from that with this tag that I found! This tag was originally created by Katie from ReadorRot and I found it … Continue reading Anything But Books Tag
Why I Self-Published My Book
Choosing to self-publish my book was a no-brainer. Why? Because I'm incredibly impatient. That's not to say I wanted my work out there as soon as I was done with it. Of course I want it to be the best it can be, but that is why I got people who I knew would be … Continue reading Why I Self-Published My Book
Mid-Year Reading Report
We are over halfway into the year now, and it's been quite a year so far! Not only did I finish my first year of graduate school with a 4.0 GPA, but I have also written and published a book and somehow managed to read (as of this time) 34 books. I really though I'd … Continue reading Mid-Year Reading Report
Siblings Book Tag
Hey guys, it's book tag time again! I found this short tag over on Kelly's blog - Another Book in the Wall - and thought it would be a cute one to do. Also, I'm really lacking on ideas for other blogs posts at the moment. Hopefully I'll get back into a good rhythm soon. … Continue reading Siblings Book Tag
bookish facts about me
I've seen a few book bloggers and bookstagrammers do posts listing some bookish facts about themselves. We al have our own quirks as readers, as well as what we like and dislike. I love learning new facts about my fellow book nerds, so I thought it'd be fun to list some bookish facts about myself … Continue reading bookish facts about me
Reading Resolutions for 2018
Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Boy, 2017 has been a ride, and a good one at that. It was a very good year for me book-wise. I crushed my goal of reading 40 books by reading 56 total - something I didn't think would happen after starting graduate school, but it did! The new year … Continue reading Reading Resolutions for 2018
Projected 2018 Reading List
I don't usually do a reading list, due to the fact I like to go by what I feel like reading. However, I do own a lot of books that I still need to read, so I'm thinking if I make a list of books I want to read in the coming year, I'll want … Continue reading Projected 2018 Reading List
Poll: What Should I Read Next? (need your help!)
Does anyone else suffer the problem of having too many unread books to choose from for your next read? I'm sure you do; if you're an avid reader anyway. I currently have a ton on my NOOK, thanks to those ebook deals I mentioned last week, and now I have no idea what to read … Continue reading Poll: What Should I Read Next? (need your help!)
Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons to Love Your Library
I’m going through a summer slump in the blogging department at the moment, but I found this great post by Holly at Nut Free Nerd listing 10 Reasons to Love Your Library.
Check it out – because it’s 1000% accurate – and give Holly some love!
And your library too.
Happy Tuesday! Since the lovely bloggers behind The Broke and the Bookish are taking a summer hiatus from creating TTT topics, I’ve decided to come up with some of my own for the next few weeks. This week I’ll be sharing my Top Ten Reasons to Love Your Library. As someone who worked at a library throughout my high school years I always look forward to visiting my local one on a regular basis during the summertime. I know everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to the formats of books they like to read (new, used, borrowed, digital, etc.) but I really think that libraries deserve more credit than they often receive! Here are ten reasons to give your local library a little more love:
1. Borrowing books = FREE. This is an obvious reason, but for many people I think it’s the most important one. I…

Birthday Book Haul (and such)
My birthday was last week, as you know from my Birthday Tag post, and it was a good one. This year I got a good amount of birthday money (and gift cards) and boy, did I treat myself! Mostly to books. Overall, I bought eight books with my birthday money, and at good deals too. … Continue reading Birthday Book Haul (and such)
2017 Reading Challenge
Happy day after Christmas everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend and any time off you've gotten to celebrate. Now that we're less than a week away from the new year, let's talk goals. More specifically, reading goals. This coming year my goal is to read 40 books. Maybe it sounds like a … Continue reading 2017 Reading Challenge
Library Lovers Tag
1. How often do you visit your local library? Technically 5 days a week... since I work there and all. But I visit ones just outside of town once every few weeks. 2. Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you know you can read or are you someone who … Continue reading Library Lovers Tag
