Well, hello strangers!
I haven’t posted anything since I revealed that I’m writing a book, and well, you can guess why. I’ve been a bit busy with that, reading quite a lot, and just other things that take away from me sitting here to write a blog post.
Also, I haven’t really had much to blog about…
That is going to change though.
Before I get to the main point of this post, let me just let you all in on an update about the book – the first (and very rough) draft is done! It is just over 50,000 words, but I didn’t even think I’d get that many for it. So now I will be going back chapter by chapter to make some edits and additions that I thought of and took note of while writing through, then I will have some fresh eyes look it over for editing. Then beta-readers (which I still need to find some).
This all leads into my main point, which is another thing I’ve working on along with writing my book – my personal writing website.
I figured that I wanted to kind of keep my fiction writing under a separate part of the Internet because this blog is for personal things, tags, and books (also, book-tags). Not to mention that I also wanted to snag the domain name that it’s under (tabbyisnotacat.com), but I didn’t want to give up on orangeowldiaries. I love this site and I’ve been writing on it for so long. I can’t imagine not writing on here, even if I do randomly take a month off.
So above is a screen-shot of the homepage. At this point, it’s going to be all about the first book I’m writing, and then more if I end up writing more (I do have other novel ideas, it’s executing them that is the hard part… obviously).
If you’re interested in the book and my future writing (of fiction), please take a look at the site, share it, and all that jazz. I’ll be posting updates as I go through editing and such, then of course announce when I’ll release the book.
Thanks for the patience everyone!
Now, what have y’all been up to this past month?
I am excited for you. You are doing something that I dreamed of doing as a kid ever since I read the Nancy Drew books, the entire series. I even started writing one but people laughed and thought I was a dork. Kinda took the wind from my sails. I still have that partially written book somewhere in this mess. I once wrote something to publish in a local newspaper and after he read it he said it was great. Wanted to know my background in writing and I had to confess I had no formal training. He said that surprised him because it looked professional. That’s my only claim to fame. Lol. Let me know when you are published. I would love to read it.
