I was inspired by Karli at September Farm to do this post. It’s an interesting take on a ‘get to know me’ post where you get to look back on the kind of person I was in high school… something that only a few people know. I can’t say I’m a completely different person, but there have been a few changes here and there.
if you knew me in high school…
I was in the advanced math class, for three years – until I decided not to advance to Calculus and took Statistics… and aced it. Yep, I was a math nerd.
if you knew me in high school…
I did not care how I dressed. To be fair, half the time I needed a uniform for shop anyway, but I probably could’ve worn nicer jeans and sweatshirts…
if you knew me in high school…
You either called me Tabby or Kiwi (some still do).
if you knew me in high school…
I stuck with the same group of friends. Loyal and true.
if you knew me in high school…
My best friend and I were inseparable. Granted, we don’t live in the same town anymore and, you know, life happens, but when we get together it’s like nothing changed.
if you knew me in high school…
I never went against the rules, even if they were dumb (seriously, banning hoodies?)
if you knew me in high school…
I wanted to be a librarian/writer. I was always writing fiction stories in my notebooks, more often than taking actual notes…
if you knew me in high school…
I was that student who actually did homework in study hall.
if you knew me in high school…
I was generally a quiet student, but there was a time I remember getting upset with my classmates for harassing a student and another time when they were just being overly immature. I’m not saying I flipped out or anything, but they shut right up and the two teachers got a kick out of it.
if you knew me in high school…
I could be a teacher’s pet… depending on the teacher. I actually really got along with the majority of my teachers. I got along better with them than a quarter of my classmates really…
if you knew me in high school…
Somehow you knew me, but I didn’t know a good bunch of you. I mean, there were only 142 students in my graduating class and I couldn’t recognize quite a few of them. (Perks of having a unique name I guess.)
Well, looking back I can think of only a few of these that have changed. It’s up to you to guess which ones, ha. I’m not close to any class reunions yet, but 10 years ago I was a freshman… so it’s not that far off. It seems like only yesterday my best friend and I were bursting out in High School Musical songs in shop…
How have you changed since high school?
