Library Week

This past week was National Library Week, as some of you may or may not have heard.  I know we have settled into this pattern of making everything a ‘holiday’ with National ‘this’ Day and such, but I think National Library Week has some importance.  Libraries are an important part of our communities after all.

To celebrate this week, we held some themed days at work – Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, Superhero Day, and Nerdy Librarian Day.  Obviously because today is Good Friday we weren’t open, but otherwise I’m sure we would’ve had another great theme for the day.

It was great to see my coworkers get into the themes.  None of us went completely overboard with dressing up, but we did well.  The patrons really enjoyed our spirit and it gave us all a little more enjoyment in what we do (not that we don’t already enjoy it).  Out of the days Pajama Day was one of my favorites because of how comfy I was at work, but I’d say Nerdy Librarian Day is tied because of how we all channeled our inner nerd.

Not that it’s that hard to do.

Have I ever mentioned I love my job and the people I work with?
