If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility.  Always invisibility.

Why?  Well, there are times that I’d like to be able to move around undetected (though I usually do anyway because I’m a ninja).  Not for anything illegal, mind you, but to avoid certain circumstances or to not be bothered if I’m in a particular mood.

For instance, as an introvert I hate small talk.  There’s always that awkward silence that goes something like this:

Person: Hey, how are you?

Me: Good.  You?

Person: Good.  Man, we’ve had some good weather.  I love it!

Me: Yeah, it’s been great.

[insert awkward silence]

Me: Well, I have to get going. See ya!

UGH!

When I see someone I know I’d have this kind of conversation with, I’d love to just turn invisible to avoid it altogether.  It happens with some of my neighbors and some people I know through my mom.  Or if there’s that one person that will not stop talking for anything… I’d love to use it then too.  I hate it when I end up standing there nodding along or saying, “Yeah” every few minutes.

Aside from that, imagine how much reading I could get done if I could be invisible?  No one could bother me and I could read for days!

Not to mention move about undetected in libraries to browse and not be judged for being in the young adult section.  Or, you know, to makes books float around and freak people out.
