Mid-Year Reading Report

We are over halfway into the year now, and it’s been quite a year so far!

Not only did I finish my first year of graduate school with a 4.0 GPA, but I have also written and published a book and somehow managed to read (as of this time) 34 books.  I really though I’d be way further behind, but there were a few times when I knocked out a series in a week.  Obviously, that was after the semester ended.

But let’s focus on my reading stats as of June 30th.

By the end of June I read 32 books total.  As shown above, the most-read genre was contemporary, the month I read the most books was May, and the month I read the least was March (I was knee deep in writing and schoolwork at that time).  I also read more print books than ebooks, and it’s not shown here, but most of the books that I’ve read were ones that I own.

The problem is that I keep buying more.  Oops.

So far some of my favorite books of the year have been:

Aftermath by Kelley Armstrong

All We Have Left by Wendy Mills

Busted by Gina Ciocca

Rules of Rain by Leah Scheier

The Land of Stories (the whole dang series) by Chris Colfer

I should also mention that I’m over 10 books ahead of my Goodreads Reading Challenge at the moment (I raised the goal to 45 a while ago).  I might need to raise it again soon if I keep up this pace.  Of course, that depends on if I feel like I can still make time for reading during next fall semester.  Honestly though, I really have no doubts that I’ll still have time to read because I will make time.

So that is my mid-year reading report for 2018.  Looking good so far!  But I think I’m going to try to throw a little mix of genres in the coming months – maybe some more non-fiction books.

How many books have you read so far this year?
