One More Year

Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed at least some part of their Labor Day weekend.  I certainly did, and no, I didn’t go to any cookouts.

Instead, I’m three for three going to bookstores all weekend.  But I won’t go into that.

The end of Labor Day weekend means a few different things.  The end of summer (even if it isn’t technically over for another few weeks), the rise of pumpkin everything, and… back to school.

It seems so weird that at twenty-seven years old I’m still going back to school along with everyone else.  Well, that’s what I get for taking two years off before pursuing my Master’s.  But I don’t mind.  I know this degree will be worth it in the end and I suppose there are people older than me that are also going back to school for some kind of degree.

Only this time, I know for sure that this is the last year I will be in school.  Once I have my Master’s degree completed in May next year, I am done with school.  For good.  I will not be getting a second Master’s nor continuing onward for a doctorate.  I applaud those who will continue on for those degrees though.  But frankly, I’ve had enough of school and writing papers and group projects… especially when I know that experience trumps education in most careers.

So happy official back to school week for everyone!  Whether you’re a student, parent, or both.  Good luck to everyone on the 2018-2019 school year!
